Dihydroquercetin as a potential immunonutrient in the complex therapy of COVID-19
Institute of Geochemistry n.a. A.P. Vinogradov, Irkutsk, Russia
About:
The biological activity of DHQ is aimed at restoring the normal functioning of all major target organs SARS-CoV-2 such as lungs, heart, liver and others. In addition, DHQ is an anticoagulant and a powerful antioxidant, which helps to normalize blood hematological parameters. Positive results from clinical trials conducted earlier in the treatment of acute pneumonia suggest that DHQ may also be used to treat pneumonia caused by the novel coronavirus infection, COVID-19. The ability of DHQ to excrete toxic free iron, which is formed as a result of the degradation of hemoglobin under the influenceSARSCoV-2, can significantly reduce tissue degradation and reduce the burden on the liver against the background of COVID-19. All of the above allows us to consider DHQ as a potential immunonutrient in complex therapy.SARS-CoV-2 , significantly reduce tissue degradation and reduce the burden on the liver against the background of COVID-19.

Impaired immune response mediated by prostaglandin E2 promotes severe COVID-19 disease.
Research Hanover Medical School, Germany
About:
Attention to the possible effective use of Dihydroquercetin (also known as Taxifolin) in the prevention and relief of COVID-19 has been significantly confirmed by scientists from Germany.
The study was conducted in several stages and was based on previously appeared assumptions that a specific agent of the immune system called prostaglandin PGE2 can change (inhibit and modify inadequately) the immune response in people at risk of infection or currently suffering from COVID-19 coronavirus.
Dihydroquercetin has shown a significant effect on reducing the negative effect of PGE2 on the formation of the immune response. According to scientists, Dihydroquercetin can be considered as a serious alternative to nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) in the treatment and prevention of viral infections, and in particular, SARS COVID-19.

“Computational guided identifcation of a citrus favonoid as potential inhibitor of SARS‑CoV‑2 main protease”
About:
Computer simulations made by Indian scientists show the advantage of DHQ in blocking the attack on the human body of the COVID 19 virus and its possible mutations. The in silico study, conducted on model schemes of interaction between the COVID19 virus and the human immune system, shows the advantage of DHQ in the formation of strong compounds with the active centers of the COVID19 virus, which can effectively prevent infection of the body with this virus. The advantage of Dihydroquercetin is demonstrated in comparison with several pre-selected natural substances that have similar antiviral potential to DHQ. Among these substances is quercetin, which is included in the treatment protocols of COVID19. The study confirms the assumption made earlier in the scientific and medical community of the Russian Federation and the world about the preference of DHQ to quercetin in the treatment and maintenance schemes for COVID19. An important result of the study is the assumption about the possible potential of DHQ to be an active antiviral agent in mutations
